SCHOLARSHIP POLICY AND ELIGIBILITY
Eligible applicants are female students with Republican affiliation in an accredited high school during the 2010 – 2011 school year. The applicant must live in the 11th Congressional District of Virginia.
Those students accepting any full scholarship may not accept this award.
Race, color, national origin, or financial need will not influence the selection of the recipient. SCHOLARSHIP AWARD IS BASED ON SCHOLASTIC MERIT AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. Scholarship money is sent directly to the school to be managed for the student. In our form, we will ask for information about the school the student will be attending. All applications must be postmarked on or before APRIL 15, 2011. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS OR THOSE THAT ARE NOT POSTMARKED BY THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE REVIEWED.
THE JANE VAN LAETHEM AND GEORGE MASON REPUBLICAN WOMEN’S CLUB COMMUNITY SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP
If you meet the eligibility requirements, you are invited to submit an application packet. Follow the detailed instructions on your form. The application must be submitted by mail. Application forms can be obtained at www.georgemasonrwc.com and then printed. All applicants must include the signed scholarship application form.
ALL PARTS OF THE APPLICATION MUST BE INCLUDED IN ONE ENVELOPE ON A COMPLETE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PACKAGE. Applications with all supporting documentation should be mailed to Michelle Terry, 4321 Wakefield Drive, Annandale, VA 22003. Applicants will be notified within a few weeks following the application deadline whether or not they have been selected for this award.

Please be sure to include the signed scholarship agreement. In order to be REVIEWED by the Scholarship Committee the COMPLETED APPLICATION and ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION must be postmarked on or before APRIL 15, 2011.
The Scholarship is a joint effort of the family of the late Jane Van Laethem and the George Mason Republican Women’s Club. Mrs. Van Laethem served as president of this club and was the 11th Congressional District Representative to the Virginia Federation of Republican Women. The Elizabeth River Republican Women’s Club and their President Anna Van Laethem contributed to this scholarship.
The application form is now available at www.georgemasonrwc.com The scholarship applicants must live in the 11th Congressional District of Northern Virginia and be affiliated with the Republican Party. The scholarship award is $500.00. All interested female students in high school should begin the application process now!!
